WellFunded is purpose-built Charity matchmaking tool for Canadian funders. It helps you compare charities, signal intent to give, and stay organized without the complexity of traditional grant systems.

Exploring Canadian Charities on WellFunded

You can explore registered charities and projects using two core features:

Type a charity name directly into the search bar to quickly find registered organizations. This is ideal if you already know who you’re looking for or want to go straight to their profile.

Our dual-feature Search & Explore page lets you easily browse and filter.

Discover charities through an interactive global map.

• Charities are shown in blue
• Projects are shown in red

You can search by country, include or exclude specific regions, and filter results to show charities, projects, or both. This view gives you a visual snapshot of where organizations and initiatives are active.

If you scroll down from the map, we offer a range of filters to help you find the right organizations. The most common way to search is by Impact Areas, tags, or a combination of both.

Looking to refine your results? Use the “AND” filter to select multiple tags and narrow down your search. For example, you might look for Indigenous-led organizations working on clean water.

WellFunded makes it easy to compare charities in Canada using consistent profiles, financial data, and smart filters designed for today’s funders.

Understanding a Charity’s Profile

Each charity on WellFunded has a detailed profile to help fundholders and foundations quickly understand their work and financial health.

Every profile includes:

• Mission and overview
• Leadership and team bios
• CRA financials, plus any recent financial statements uploaded by the charity
• Accreditations and impact highlights
• Relevant projects and giving opportunities

WellFunded imports baseline data from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and supplements it with charity-provided updates.

This consistent structure helps donors evaluate organizations with clarity and ease, offering a more modern and intuitive experience than traditional grant software.
